Life May Not Be “Fair”

Dr. Jed N. Snyder, Pastor

Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him, and he will act. He will bring forth your righteousness as the light, and your justice as the noonday. Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him; fret not yourself over the one who prospers in his way, over the man who carries out evil devices! Refrain from anger and forsake wrath! Fret not yourself; it tends only to evil. Psalm 37:5-8 (ESV)

Have you felt that you were being discriminated against because of your race, religion, family, employment or even your obesity or apparent anorexia? If so, and it is likely that you have, you are among the great majority of people. Life often does not seem to be “fair.” Professional athletes may take home millions while their work-out assistants are grossly underpaid. Nurses and health-care aids frequently do the hard, “dirty” work while the doctor appears to get the “big bucks.” It is likely that you can add many other cases of apparent discrimination to these.

What really matters and will bring a healthy perspective is our relationship to the Lord. If we believe that God is alert to each one of us and He cares for us all, then we will follow the truths that are given in the passage at the beginning of this article. Commit to the Lord. He will act. Be still, be patient, not anxious. Do not get vengeful or wrathful. When we know that God brings “all things together for good to those who love Him” we can be joyful and peaceful especially when much seems so unfair. Your broken health or “rattle-trap” car do not mean God has abandoned you. He sees the bigger picture and knows what His plans are for you.

May we be “happy” even when life seems very unfair.

SALVATION

How To Receive the Gift of Eternal Life

ADMIT: we all are sinners. No one is perfect, everybody has sinned. All will be judged.
Romans 3:10 “As it is written, there is none righteous, no, not one.”
Romans 3:23 “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”
The price of sin.
Romans 6:23a “for the wages of sin is death.”

BELIEVE: Jesus Christ paid for your sins by dying on the cross. He rose on the third day to show his victory over sin. He offers forgiveness, the gift of eternal life.
Romans 5:8 “But God showed His great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.”
Romans 6:23b “…but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

REPENT: Ask God to forgive you for sinning and being a sinner. It’s important to repent for sin in your life.
Mark 1:14-15; 9:13 “… I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance”

CONFESS: Jesus as Lord and call on Him for salvation.
Romans 10:9-10, 13 “…that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation…For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

THE SINNER’S PRAYER. If you’re ready to accept Jesus, please pray a prayer like the one below.

Dear God, I admit that I’m a sinner and realize that my sins have separated me from You. I repent of my sins. I acknowledge and believe that Jesus is the Son of God and that he died, was buried, and rose on the third day to offer the gift of eternal life. I give my life to you by trusting in Jesus now and forever. Come into my heart right now as I claim your forgiveness for my sins and save my soul from eternal wrath. I accept your gift of eternal life. Thank you for saving me. Help me to live this new life in the fullness of your power. In Jesus name, Amen.

If you made a decision to accept Jesus as Lord and Savior of your life, will you let us know about it? We have materials to help you which we would love to send you.
Contact: jsnyder@jedministries.com or call 781-888-1642.
If you already know Christ and would like these materials to use and share with others, please let us know, also.
If you are not sure but are interested and will consider your need to receive Christ, you, too, can let us know and we will gladly send materials to you.

NOTE: No prayer saves you, only God’s grace does as you place your faith and trust in him. Prayer is simply talking to God, asking him into your life.

Marching Forward

Marching Forward

God has been good to Jesus Every Day Ministries. The spiritual warfare that is being waged by some of the folks among whom we minister is great. But God is greater. It has been a source of joy and encouragement to be enlightened by the Holy Spirit regarding how to help people, especially as they deal with sin.

Brothers, if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted. Galatians 6:1

Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working. James 5:16

Please consider the following:
Person A- the offender Person B-the offended

A————–> <----------------B In this illustration, the two parties are following the Bible and seeking reconciliation. Note that the offended person does not wait for the offender to come to him. He also initiates the reconciliation process. A--------------------------------> B
In this illustration, the offended party does nothing, but the offender obeys Scripture and repents, seeking forgiveness and reconciliation.

A <--------------------------------B In this illustration, the offender does nothing, but the offended obeys Scripture and goes to the offender to seek to get him to admit the sin, repent, and become reconciled. The Bible places the responsibility for cleansing, and the spiritual power and insight that accompanies cleansing, on both parties to the sin. There is more to consider in regard to being cleansed from sin but if we apply these things we will be more likely to be aware of and be able to use and continue to develop our spiritual gifts. Thanks for being part of the Jesus Every Day Ministries. I hope you will continue to be part of the work God is doing through your prayers and giving.

The New Building

The above is the million dollar building (fully paid for) at Zaporozyhe Bible College and Seminary in Ukraine. It was dedicated to the Lord’s use on Saturday, October 6, 2012. It has faculty offices, a full floor for the library, dorms and guest rooms for visiting teachers. It sits next (not visible) to a classroom building that looks almost like it.

This was given by my class on the last day

These are my students. They all studied really hard and all passed the book of Acts course. The guy to the far right is from Khazakstan.

I am preaching at College Church. The interpreter is also the Academic Dean of the College.

Thanks again to all who prayed and gave and please keep praying and if you can continue to support please do as the Lord may lead.
Can You Help?

We want to make a comprehensive list of service agencies (especially Christian ones) in the Midlands of South Carolina. Will you email me contact information so I can get in touch with such organizations? I have a questionnaire to send them to evaluate their trustworthiness for being listed.

Thanks,

APRIL 2011

March Forward to the Glory of Jesus

Now that March 2011 has come and gone, may I ask you how your witness to your five nearest neighbors is moving forward?  This past week one of our neighbor families who are believers in Jesus Christ gave us the use of their North Carolina mountain home for a few days of reflection, rest and refreshment after Betty’s Dad passed on to be with the Lord.  We are so thankful to our Lord that we had this gift but, more importantly, that we and they have become friends.  We are also getting to know the others nearby.  One is elderly.  I was able to mow his lawn for him recently.  What a great privilege to seek to help and receive helped.  Hope your 2011 ministry is moving forward.

We ask for prayer for financial and spiritual support for the ministry.  One of our faithful suppliers is now in assisted living.  He still managed to send us Bible portions.  Praise our Lord for this.

We also have received enough support to continue to distribute DVDS on the life of Jesus and the conversion of the Apostle Paul.  Please know that for $25.00 a month you can purchase 10 DVDS.  We are asking for you to consider monthly giving even if in small amounts.  Only ten people giving $25.00 a month makes it possible for us to give away 100 DVDS.  If several will give monthly when added together these gifts mean so very much to the work of the Gospel.  Another way of considering how the money is valued is that one hour of counseling is about $50.00.  Since some can pay nothing, help to provide counseling for hurting people is deeply appreciated.  Time to write, study, teach, preach, and pray is an important part of ministry.  Your gifts provide the basis for us to give time in helping others.

Many of you have heard that we have the privilege of writing for the local newspaper and for a virtual magazine.  Please pray for wisdom to write ministering for the glory of Jesus Christ.

Since I have completed my doctoral work, I can now focus more intently on writing.  I have just begun to write parts of two books which I am praying to complete.  Marketing will be a challenge but we do hope that our Lord will guide.  We are seeking to glorify Him as we write.

Finally let me ask you to keep praying for the Ken Rose family, missionaries in the Philippines.  They are doing a fabulous job on an extremely small budget.  If you will pray for their work and desire to hear directly from them, please let us know.

All gifts to this ministry here and for the work in the Philippines are tax deductible for those who pay USA taxes.
