Jedidiah N. Snyder (“Jed”) is home with Jesus.

Jedidiah N. Snyder (“Jed”) went home to Jesus on January 9, 2022 at age 77. He is already greatly missed.

Jed was born to Horace and Josephine Snyder on September 22, 1944 in Towanda, Pennsylvania. Along with his eight siblings, he moved with his father to Bolivia where he attended school through High School at the New Tribes Mission school in Cochabamba, Bolivia. His collegiate and graduate studies in Theology, Counseling, and Education helped shape his lifelong passion for Jesus and for ministering to others.

Jed met his wife, Betty in 1967 at Philadelphia College of Bible. They married two years later on May 17, 1969 and went on to have three children, Timothy (married to Melody), Rebekah (married to Troy), and Nathan. Jed’s work led them from Philadelphia to Syracuse, NY, Brattleboro, VT, Columbia, SC, and Lexington, MA, where many memories and friends were made. He was proud of his five granddaughters (and two others already in heaven), grandson, and great-granddaughter (who was especially good at making him smile).

Jed served in several pastoral roles, as hospital and hospice chaplain, personal counselor, pastoral mentor, professor, and author. Until his sudden illness, he served as pastor at Augusta Street Church, President of Jesus Every Day Ministries, and speaker at Three Rivers Behavioral. When not working, he loved caring for his garden and refinishing furniture.

A memorial service will be held at Augusta Street Church in West Columbia, SC at 10:00am, Saturday January 15. In lieu of flowers, the family is sure that Jed would prefer donations to Augusta Street Church or Jesus Every Day Ministries (www.jedministries.com).

Isaiah 40:31: They who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.
